Albert Atchley

Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Albert began his full time career in funeral service in 1971, but actually started working in the family business as a young boy. He is married to the former Lucy Rambo, and they have three children, Adam, Marguerite, and Reed, three granddaughters, Kennedy Robyn, Addison Reed, and Alexis Lucy, and one grandson, Mason William. Albert is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sevierville. Albert is a graduate of John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN, served as president of its Alumni Association and is currently a trustee. He is a past-president of the Sevierville Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Leadership Sevier class of 2000. With his three children being very active in sports, Albert has donated many hours to youth athletics in Sevier County. His dedication has paid off in that all three of his children went to college on athletic scholarships. Professionally, Albert has served the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association as a member of its Legislative Committee as well as serving tenure as East Director. He is currently the President of the Independent Funeral Group. The IFG is an organization of over 90 independently owned funeral homes from three states, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia. The unity the Independent Funeral Group affords its members enables them to obtain the benefits of the larger corporations without losing their ability to control their own business or compromising the integrity they have developed in their communities.

D.J. Atchley

Like his brother Albert, D.J. too became involved in the family business at a young age, and following his graduation from Carson-Newman College and John A. Gupton College, he began his full time service with Atchley Funeral Home. D.J. is married to the former Wendy Smith, and they have two sons, Harrison and Jonathan. He is a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. He is past-president of both the Rotary Club of Sevierville and the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce. He also has been involved with youth sports in Sevier County. Professionally, D.J. is past-president and former board member of the Greater Knoxville Funeral Service Associates, and served as an East Director for the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association.

Adam Atchley

Adam's decision to follow in his father's footsteps marks the entry of the fourth generation of Atchleys into funeral service. Adam is married to the former Tiffany Hindman, and they have two daughters, Kennedy Robyn and Addison Reed. He is a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. Adam is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University, where he attended on a soccer scholarship. While earning his MBA at LMU, he helped coach the men's and women's soccer programs. Adam is a member of the 2001 Class of Leadership Tomorrow and is on its advisory board. An avid runner, Adam successfully completed the Boston Marathon in 2004 and 2005.

Reed Atchley

Upon graduation from Carson Newman College in 2005, Reed joined his family in the funeral service industry. Reed is married to the former Ashley Roark, also a Carson-Newman College alumnus, and they have two sons, Bo and Bennett. Reed was a member of the 1999 Sevier County High School State Championship Football team and attended Carson-Newman on an athletic scholarship. He is a member of the 2010 Class of Leadership Tomorrow. Reed is currently on the Board of Directors of the Cemetery Association of Tennessee. Reed enjoys outdoor activities, particularly golfing and hunting.

Elizabeth McCarter

Elizabeth has been a part of Atchley Funeral Home since 1991. She is married to David McCarter and they have a daughter, Emily Grace, and a son, Andrew. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and worked in retail management before entering the funeral business. Elizabeth is a licensed funeral director, working primarily with at-need families, but also assists with pre-arrangements, as well as overseeing several day- to-day activities at our Sevierville location. Elizabeth is a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville and is past-president of both the Sevierville Sunrise Rotary Club and Kids Voting in Sevier County.

Dennis Ogle

Grounds Maintenance / Cemetery Technician

Dennis came to Atchley Funeral Home in 2004 after working for many years at Dan River. His duties include maintaining Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens and making sure all cemetery equipment and vaults are in place and ready at all graveside and committal services. He and his wife Karen have a daughter, Brittany, and attend Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

Diana Shular

Accounts Receivable Coordinator

Diana joined Atchley Funeral Home in 2004, after a long career in the business office of Fort Sanders-Sevier Medical Center. She assists families with insurance claims and needs they may have regarding their account. She and her husband Kenny have two children, Brandi and Brannon, and two grandchildren. She is a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Sevierville.

Loretta Smith

Administrative Assistant

Loretta has been with Atchley Funeral Home since 2002. She has several duties, but her primary emphasis is securing death certificates and other important documents for our families in a timely manner. Loretta has three children Caleb, Walker, and Lanaya.

Chris Smith

Chris joined us in Feb. 2007 following an 18 year career as an officer with the Pigeon Forge Police Department. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Chris and his wife Lisa have three children, Cody, Sarah Beth, and Sean, and live in Kodak. They are members of French Broad Baptist Church in Dandridge, TN. Through his experiences as a police officer, Chris was able to develop the skills necessary for assisting families during difficult times. During his spare time, he enjoys reading, boating, and gardening.

Dan Stitzel

Dan came to Atchley Funeral Home in 2001 after stints at Rose Mortuary in Knoxville and Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. He is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Dan's primary responsibility is the day-to-day activities at Atchley's Seymour location. Dan is married to the former Colleen Burke and has 3 children, Aaron, Charles, and Katrina, and two grandchildren, Lucy and Sebastian. Dan is a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during Desert Storm. During his spare time, Dan can be found cruising the roads on his Harley.

Greg Light

Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Greg joined Atchley Funeral Home in July 2008. He graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1994 and holds a B.S. degree in Mortuary Science. He is a veteran of the Gulf War, serving in the Army National Guard during Desert Storm. Greg likes to hunt, fish, and work on old cars and motorcycles. He is married to his lovely wife, Deonna, and has four wonderful children, three boys and a girl, and four grandchildren. Greg and Deonna enjoy animals, and provide foster-care for needy dogs.

Jason McQueen

Jason joined Atchley Funeral Home in March 2011 as an apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Virginia's College at Wise in 2004 and has earned his degree in funeral services from Jefferson State. Before entering the funeral profession, Jason worked many years in retail and computer repair. He is married to his lovely wife Kelli, and they have two wonderful boys, Benjamin and Andrew.

Eric Seavers

Employed since 2011, Eric started his apprenticeship for funeral directing and embalming at Atchley Funeral Home in December of 2011 and soon after earned his dual-license. Eric is a 2005 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a bachelor's degree in graphic design and is a 2011 graduate of John A. Gupton College in Nashville with an associate's degree in funeral directing and embalming. Originally from West Tennessee, Eric now resides in Louisville with his wife Elaine and two loving cats, and enjoys traveling in his spare time.

Jackie Underwood

Jackie came to Atchley Funeral Home in 2010 after 14 years of teaching at New Center School. She is married to Randy Underwood and they have a daughter, Sarah, and a son, Weston. She is a graduate of The University of Tennessee and Carson-Newman College. Jackie is a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville.

Kristen Norton

Kristen joined Atchley Funeral Home in March 2014. She graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2005 and is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Texas and Tennessee. She is married to Jeremy D. Norton. They both enjoy golf, disc golf, archery and the outdoors. Kristen is an associate writer of the Legacy Archives Foundation and a passionate supporter of military Veterans and their families.

Doug McFalls

Funeral Assistant

Doug McFalls came to Atchleys Funeral Home in September 2015. Doug was born and raised in Marietta Georgia and went to College in LaGrange Georgia where he received his degree in Speech, Communications and Theatre. Doug came home to his family's roots in Sevier County in 2008. He worked and lived at LeConte Lodge atop Mt. LeConte for three years. He then spent 8 months working for the Appalachian Trail Conservatory in conjunction with the National Park Service Patrolling the Appalachian Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Doug left the National Park and worked for the Sevier County Sheriff's Office serving as a Corrections Officer in the Sevier County Jail for nearly 4 years. Doug came to Atchleys Funeral Home with a simple desire to be of service to his community and feels that he has come home.

Mark Clabough

Funeral Assistant

Mark joined Atchley Funeral Home in April of 2016. Mark was born and raised in Sevier County and went to Sevier County High School. Mark has been a local business owner for 15 years and worked for the Sevier County Sheriff's Department for 3.5 years before joining Atchley Funeral Home. Mark is married to Nora Ramsey Clabough and has four children. Outside of work Mark enjoys spending time with his family, wood working, and restoring old motorcycles.

Christel Choate

Christel has been with Atchley Funeral Home since 2013. She is formally from Dayton, Ohio, but grew up in Maryville, TN. She has resided in Seymour the past 20 years. She graduated from Tennessee School of Beauty in 1984 and later worked in the banking industry. Christel has two wonderful adult children and she attends Oak City Baptist Church.
