Obituary for Barbara Sue Bartley

Barbara Sue Bartley, 71, of Sevierville, TN and formerly of Elkhorn City, KY, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at LeConte Medical Center after a short illness. She was born September 11, 1946 to the late Ona and J.B. Looney. Barbara was a faithful member of Muddy Creek Free Will Baptist Church. She loved singing at church with her brothers and sisters at Muddy Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Ray Bartley; one sister, Marie Taylor; four brothers, Howard Murphy, Van Ratliff, Billy Gene Looney, and Eulean Looney.

Barbara is survived by one son, Henry Anderson; 2 granddaughters, Melissa Thompson and Miranda Cure of Lick Creek, KY; 3 grandsons, Keghan Thompson, Dalton Cure, and Hunter Cure; 5 sisters, Betty Thacker of Columbus, GA, Lucille Coleman, Adrienne Swiney, Jewelene Adams, and Shelma Adkins of Elkhorn City, KY; 2 brothers, James Looney of Ashcamp, KY, and Ron Keith Looney of Raccoon, KY.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, August 31st at Muddy Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 2386 Hills Chapel Rd, Dandridge, TN 37725. The funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 1st at Muddy Creek Free Will Baptist Church with the graveside service to follow at Hills Union Cemetery. Rev. Jess Sherrod, Rev. Donnie Coleman, and Jimmy Kerr will be officiating.
