Obituary for Dorothy Aileen Galyon

Dorothy Galyon, 81, of Seymour, TN passed away after a short illness on February 4, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Knob Creek Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Joy Sunday School class and enjoyed working in Vacation Bible School. She was the owner of Dorothy’s Old and New Collectibles at Flea Traders Paradise in Sevierville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Galyon, Jr.; parents, James C. and Retha Mc Mahan; brothers-in-law, Larry Tittsworth and Adrian Jett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Margaret Galyon, Johnie and Nell Galyon, Jack and Mildred Key, Troy and Juanita Galyon, Rev. Ralph and Marjorie Galyon; and father and mother-in-law, Mack Sr. and Hattie Galyon.

Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Greg Perkins, Charlotte, NC, Donna-Kaye and Daniel Rosenbalm, Knoxville, TN, and Dr. Cathy Galyon, Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Kevin, Adam, and Noah Rosenbalm, Spencer Perkins, Nicholas Perkins, and Luverne Javier, Macky and Chandler Keramidas; great grandson, Mason Perkins; sister, Evelyn Tittsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Doug Jett; sister-in-law, Lucy Jett; sister-and brother-in-law, Faye and Don Alleman; special friends, Eric Bevins, Elias Keramidas, and Carson Kiser; and many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Dr. Kenneth Reese, nurse Debbie, and staff, Fort Sanders Regional Health Care Transitional Care and Physical Rehabilitation Unit on the 9th floor, and Amedisys Hospice for the compassionate, excellent care they provided.

The Dorothy McMahan Galyon Memorial fund has been established to collect funds for an orphanage in Uganda, Africa to assist Eddie, a child with a physical disability in much need of surgery. Please send donations to:

Funeral service 7 PM Friday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. Edward King and Rev. Daniel Rosenbalm officiating. Interment 11 AM Saturday in Knob Creek Cemetery.
