Obituary for Kenneth Ray Caughron, Sr.

Kenneth Ray Caughron, Sr., age 87, of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Kenneth was a member and Deacon of Maples Branch Baptist Church. He served his country in the Army from 1952-1954. He also retired from TVA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cas and Ellen Caughron; brothers, Luther, James, Clay, Jack, Harmon, J.C., Otha, and Albert Caughron; sisters, Bessie Whaley, Willie Whaley, Fannie Whaley, and Ruby Caughron.

Survivors:
Wife of 61 years, Mary Thompson Caughron; Son, Ray Caughron, Jr. and wife, Gale; Daughter, Marsha Disney of Kodak; Sister and brother-in-law, Lora Smith and husband, John of Sevierville
Sister-in-law, Pauline Thompson Heard of Griffin, Georgia; Three grandchildren: Wesley Caughron and wife, Angie, Chris Disney and wife, Rachel, Alicia Caughron and significant other, Matt Kershner; Five great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Taylor, Emma, Ella, and Sophia; and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday, September 21st with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Clay officiating. Interment 11 AM Friday in Bethel Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday school class at Maples Branch Baptist Church.
