Harold Atchley

With nearly 60 years of service, Harold Atchley is the elder statesman of Atchley Funeral Home. Harold is married to the former Edythe Temple, and they have 5 children; Chuck, Albert, Tom, and D.J Atchley and Patsy Atchley Wallace. They also have 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is a life long member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville and served in local politics during most of his adulthood, as well as serving as Sevier County Coroner for over 30 years. He has long been associated with the Sevierville/Sevier County Volunteer Fire Department, the Sevierville Lion's Club, and many other local and charitable organizations. Mr. Atchley also served his country in World War II. On January 20, 2000 he was honored as the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, for his long time commitment to the people of Sevier County. Professionally, he has held the hand of most of the families of Sevier County when care was needed the most, and is a Past-President of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and a past member of the Tennessee Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.
 

Albert Atchley

Albert began his full time career in funeral service in 1971, but actually started working in the family business as a young boy. He is married to the former Lucy Rambo, and they have three children, Adam, Marguerite, and Reed, two granddaughters, Kennedy Robyn and Addison Reed, and one grandson, Mason William. Albert is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sevierville. Albert is a graduate of John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN, served as president of its Alumni Association and is currently a trustee. He is a past-president of the Sevierville Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Leadership Sevier class of 2000. With his three children being very active in sports, Albert has donated many hours to youth athletics in Sevier County. His dedication has paid off in that all three of his children went to college on athletic scholarships. Professionally, Albert has served the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association as a member of its Legislative Committee as well as serving tenure as East Director. He is currently the President of the Independent Funeral Group. The IFG is an organization of over 90 independently owned funeral homes from three states, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia. The unity the Independent Funeral Group affords its members enables them to obtain the benefits of the larger corporations without losing their ability to control their own business or compromising the integrity they have developed in their communities.
 

D.J. Atchley

Like his brother Albert, D.J. too became involved in the family business at a young age, and following his graduation from Carson-Newman College and John A. Gupton College, he began his full time service with Atchley Funeral Home. D.J. is married to the former Wendy Smith, and they have two sons, Harrison and Jonathan. He is a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. He is past-president of both the Rotary Club of Sevierville and the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce. He also has been involved with youth sports in Sevier County and is on the Board of Directors of the Eagle Club, the athletic scholarship funding arm of Carson-Newman College. Professionally, D.J. is past-president and former board member of the Greater Knoxville Funeral Service Associates.
 

Adam Atchley

Adam's decision to follow in his father's footsteps marks the entry of the fourth generation of Atchleys into funeral service. Adam is married to the former Tiffany Hindman, and they have two daughters, Kennedy Robyn and Addison Reed. Adam is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University, where he attended on a soccer scholarship. While earning his MBA at LMU, he helped coach the men's and women's soccer programs. Adam is a member of the 2001 Class of Leadership Tomorrow and is on its advisory board. An avid runner, Adam successfully completed the Boston Marathon in 2004 and 2005.
 
Reed Atchley

Upon graduation from Carson Newman College in 2006, Reed joined his family in funeral service. Reed is engaged to Ashley Roark, also a Carson Newman College alumnus. Reed was a member of the 1999 Sevier County High School State Championship Football team and attended Carson Newman on an athletic scholarship. Reed enjoys outdoor activities, particularly golfing and hunting.
 
Catherine Atchley

Another fourth generation Atchley entered into funeral service when Catherine joined us in 2002. She directs our aftercare and pre-need programs, and has numerous public relations responsibilities. She is a graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She was previously employed by the University of Tennessee College of Business Administration as a development officer. She is a graduate of Sevier County Leadership Tomorrow and sits on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of the Great Smoky Mountains. She and her husband Chuck reside in the Boyd's Creek community.
 

James M. Atchley

James' first tenure with Atchley Funeral Home was in the 1950's, but he left to own and operate a successful gas station business in Sevierville. He also served Sevier County as Fire Chief for 35 years. James is a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Sevierville, and is a veteran of the United States Army. He is married to the former Billie Catlett. James retired from the Fire Department in 1993, but his desire to stay active and help his fellow Sevier Countians remains strong. He rejoined Atchley Funeral Home, where his compassion is felt by the many lives that he touches.
 
O'dell Finchum
Grounds Maintenance/Cemetery Technician
Since 2004
Odell came to Atchley Funeral Home in 2004 after working for many years at Dan River. His duties include maintaining Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens and making sure all cemetery equipment and vaults are in place and ready at all graveside and committal services. He and his wifeGeraldine have a son, Jason, and attend Gists Creek Baptist Church.

Terry has been with Atchley Funeral Home since 1986, serving in the role of funeral assistant. He is married to the former Debbie Whitlock and they have 2 sons, Jamie and Brian.

Eva joined the Atchley Funeral Home staff with the opening of our location in Seymour. She has numerous office responsibilities and interacts daily with the families we serve. She is a member of East Maryville Baptist Church, where she teaches Sunday school.
 
Robin Huskey

Robin began working at Atchley Funeral Home while obtaining her B.A. degree at Carson-Newman College and later graduated from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science. She has both funeral service and embalming duties. Robin, who enjoys outdoor activities such as boating and camping in her spare time, is the daughter of Jerry & Christine Hobbs of Sevierville and James & Carolyn Huskey of Seymour.
 
Buddy Keyes

Prior to joining the staff of Atchley Funeral Home, Buddy was a minister of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Laurel, Mississippi. After moving to Sevierville, he worked at The Orvis Co. Store. He and his wife Brooke have a daughter, Bianca, and a son, Braxton. Buddy enjoys outdoor activities, especially fishing, hiking, and backpacking.

Earl joined the Atchley Funeral Home staff as funeral assistant in 1990 after a long career in the retail grocery industry. He is married to the former Sue McCarter, and they have two children, Randy and Rod, and one grandson. Earl is a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
 
David McCarter

David came to Atchley Funeral Home in 2003 as a funeral assistant after many years in public service. He was most recently a Firefighter/EMT for the City of Sevierville. He has been a volunteer fireman in Sevier County since 1988 and served in many roles, including Assistant Chief for 6 years. David joins his wife Elizabeth as part of our team; they have a daughter, Emily Grace, and a son, Andrew. He is a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville.

Elizabeth has been a part of Atchley Funeral Home since 1991. She is married to David McCarter and they have a daughter, Emily Grace, and a son, Andrew. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and worked in retail management before entering the funeral business. Elizabeth is a licensed funeral director, working primarily with at-need families, but also assists with pre-arrangements, as well as overseeing several day- to-day activities at our Sevierville location. Elizabeth is a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville and is past-president of both the Sevierville Sunrise Rotary Club and Kids Voting in Sevier County.
 
Dennis Ogle

Dennis came to Atchley Funeral Home in 2004 after working for many years at Dan River. Lee Ownby

Lee has been with Atchley Funeral Home since 1969. Most of Lee's career has been in selling insurance and helping Atchley Funeral Home incorporate a pre-planned funeral program. He now predominately works as a funeral assistant, where his many years of experience make him a comforting presence for families. Lee is married to the former Hazel Dodgen and they have two children, Lois and Roger, and two grandchildren, Leslie and Jason.
 

Leroy Parton

Leroy's employment with Atchley Funeral Home began in 1995 as a funeral assistant. Leroy is married to the former Joann Franklin and they have two children, Karen and Steve, and two grandchildren. Leroy is well known throughout this area from his participation in gospel singing, and he had been singing at funerals long before he started to work here. He is also a licensed auctioneer and is in high demand in this role. Leroy is a veteran of the United States Army.

Richard began working at Atchley Funeral Home in 1992, but has been involved in funeral service most of his life. Richard's father owned and operated funeral homes in Texas and North Carolina as well as working as a representative of Dodge Chemical Company. Richard began full time work in funeral service in 1984 after graduating from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and has worked for Rose Mortuary and McCarty Mortuary in Knoxville, and with his father at Ricks & Son Funeral Home in Teague, TX and Ivy Funeral Home in Murphy, NC. Richard has two daughters, Glenna and Jennifer.
 
Diana Shular

Diana joined Atchley Funeral Home in 2004, after a long career in the business office of Fort Sanders-Sevier Medical Center. She assists families with insurance claims and needs they may have regarding their account. She and her husband Kenny have two children, Brandi and Brannon, and one grandchild. She is an active member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Sevierville, where she serves as Sunday School Secretary.
 

Dallas Shults

Dallas is currently in his second stint with Atchley Funeral Home. He worked here from 1986 until 1991, and returned in 1993. His involvement in funeral service began in 1979, when he graduated from Gupton-Jones College in Atlanta. He has worked for Brown Funeral Home in Newport, TN and Garrett Funeral Home in Waynesville, NC. Dallas is also quite knowledgeable about computers, and has been instrumental in developing the computer system at the funeral home. Dallas is married to the former Katherine Sutton, who also works at Atchley Funeral Home in housekeeping. They have two sons, John and Terry, and two grandchildren. Dallas is a veteran of the United States Army.
 
Loretta Smith

Loretta has been with Atchley Funeral Home since 2002. She has several duties, but her primary emphasis is securing death certificates and other important documents for our families in a timely manner. She is married to Guy Smith and they have two sons, Caleb and Walker, and a daughter, Lanaya.
 
Dan Stitzel

Dan came to Atchley Funeral Home in 2001 after stints at Rose Mortuary in Knoxville and Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. He is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Dan's primary responsibility is the day-to-day activities at Atchley's Seymour location. Dan is married to the former Colleen Burke and has 3 step-children, Aaron, Charles, and Katrina. Dan is a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during Desert Storm.
